The Jing An Shangri-La West Shanghai features 508 rooms and suites, all of which are located on the 30th to the 59th floors of a high building and come equipped with floor-to-ceiling windows that provide breathtaking vistas of the Shanghai skyline.

You can't get much more central than the Kerry Hotel in Pudong, which is located right next to Century Park.

There are two great places to eat at the Kerry: An extensive buffet and a deli, The Cook features show kitchens where chefs prepare dishes in various international cuisines. In-house butchering and an extensive meat-centric menu distinguish the steakhouse known as The Meat at this hotel.

Guests can enjoy yoga, spinning, and aerobics classes. There is a tennis court and basketball court at the hotel, and they are both open and lit until 11 p.m.

One of the largest hotel gyms in the city is waiting for you to work out after a meal at The Meat or The Cook: a whopping 65,000 square feet (6,000 square metres) across three floors! (with a sauna and steam room).

Located on Maoming Road in the French Concession, not far from the fantastic shopping on Huaihai Road, this hotel is a convenient base from which to explore Shanghai.

The rooms and suites here are spacious and luxurious, but before you book, make sure you know which ones don't have a view. Rooms are contemporary with nice luxury features like marble bathrooms, large flat-screen TVs, and deep bathtubs. The Shanghai EDITION is a 4-star hotel in Shanghai that offers rooms with free WiFi and is located within a 5-minute walk of the Bund. The property is located about 1.2 km from People's Square and Yu Garden and is a minute's walk from the pedestrian Street on East Nanjing Road.

It occupies a beautiful old building on the Bund. The rooms and suites at the Peace Hotel, which is now a Fairmont property, combine cutting-edge comfort with period touches. Bathrooms in each room are spacious and decorated with marble and chrome, and they are equipped with every conceivable convenience.

With only 279 rooms (39 of which are suites), the hotel provides a more intimate stay than many of the city's other five-star establishments. The most basic rooms look out onto an interior courtyard, while the suites and deluxe rooms can look out onto the city, the Bund, or the river.
